PROJECT RESULT 1
Development of Assessment Tool for
SBL initiatives
The Green Horizons project delivers an innovative Assessment Tool for Service-Based Learning (SBL) initiatives focused on green competencies. This tool enables educators to evaluate and improve sustainability practices within education. Developed through focus-group interviews with 10-12 representatives in each partner country, it gathers key insights into the needs and challenges of integrating green competencies into curricula. The tool identifies gaps and strengths, aligned with the EU’s "GreenComp - The European Sustainability Competence Framework." Key outcomes include comprehensive findings reports, a "Green Insight" analysis, and an online tool assessing Relevance, Feasibility, Community Impact, and Behavior Change.
PROJECT RESULT 2
Development of comprehensive Handbook for
Teachers
The second result of the Green Horizons project is the development of a comprehensive Handbook for Teachers, specifically tailored to educators in the creative industry. This handbook will guide the integration of climate change education through Service-Based Learning (SBL). Led by High School EduTech and Luxembourg Creative Lab, the handbook will define its structure and scope based on insights from the first project result, focusing on creative-centered training courses. It will cover essential topics such as SBL foundations, designing effective climate-related initiatives, and assessment methods aligned with GreenComp competencies. The content will be tested and refined through industry feedback from local organizations to ensure its practical application and social impact.
PROJECT RESULT 3
Launch of SBL Initiative and Validation
The third result of the Green Horizons project, "Launch of SBL Initiative and Validation," focuses on applying and validating the Assessment Tool and Handbook developed in earlier project stages. Led by EduTech, this result begins with creating a detailed ‘Methodology for Launch & Validation,’ ensuring a systematic approach to implementing these tools. Educators will test the Assessment Tool in their classrooms, and feedback will refine its effectiveness. Additionally, each partner will design and implement two green-focused Service-Based Learning (SBL) initiatives based on the Handbook. The initiatives will be evaluated for their impact on students, communities, and curriculum integration, culminating in a Final Launch Conference to share insights and successes.
