Green Horizons Results Unveiling – Sofia 2025 | Educational Technologies Private School

On June 27, 2025, the Private Secondary School “Educational Technologies” hosted the final event of the “Green Horizons” project (No. 2024-1-LU01-KA210-VET-000243985), funded by the Erasmus+ Programme.

The event brought together teachers, educational experts, and representatives of partner organizations, united by a shared vision for innovative and sustainable education. Participants had the opportunity to explore the results of the project, implemented in partnership between Luxembourg Creative Lab and “Educational Technologies” Private Secondary School.

The presented outcomes included:

  • The “Sustainable Learning Journeys” Handbook – a practical guide for applying the Service-Based Learning (SBL) method in education on topics related to climate change. Attendees were introduced to the handbook’s content and key chapters, including lesson examples, planning templates, and inspiring scenarios.
  • An Assessment Tool based on the European sustainability framework GreenComp, offering a structured approach to measuring progress in developing students’ sustainability competences. A practical demonstration showcased its application in a school context.
  • Student initiatives developed throughout the school year using the SBL method – two projects stood out in particular:
    • A study on energy efficiency and LEED-certified buildings, including visits to Muzeiko and Sofia Airport Center.
    • A creative anti-pollution project, featuring an exhibition made from recycled materials and a clean-up campaign in the school’s surrounding area.

The final part of the meeting was dedicated to a dialogue between teachers and guests on opportunities for sustainable educational practices in vocational and secondary education. The discussion addressed challenges in integrating environmental topics into the curriculum and the potential of the Service-Based Learning approach to connect knowledge, practice, and social responsibility.

The “Green Horizons” project concludes with a clear message: education has the power to inspire action, and young people are the driving force for change toward a more sustainable world.
